Faustino I Gran Reserva 1955
This is one of the best vintages of the decade. The vegetative cycle was 195 days. There were some frosts in April that didn’t cause much damage. Rain, well distributed throughout the cycle.
Appearance: Clean colour, bright, medium-low colour depth, brick red with orange hues.
Nose: Intense, with spicy hints, elegant cedar notes due to the long time spent in the bottle.
Tasting: Mature, fine and silky.
Aftertaste: Remarkable spicy hints.
Finish: Long, elegant and complex finish with notes of nuts and dried fruit.
It matches with any kind of meat and mushrooms rice. Some tasty or oily fish such as tuna or cod. Medium-aged cheese such as emmental or gruyere.
85% Tempranillo; 15% Graciano, Mazuelo, Viura.
